WHO WE ARE

Ability Africa Media is a disability inclusion organization committed to building a more equitable society through education, economic empowerment, research, and storytelling. We believe inclusion should be visible in classrooms, homes, workplaces, communities and public spaces. Our story began in 2015 with Ability Africa Magazine, a storytelling platform created to amplify disability voices and shift public narratives.

Through years of listening, documenting and learning from communities, we saw that storytelling revealed deeper gaps that needed practical solutions. We realized that storytelling was just the first step. It exposed deep, systemic gaps that demanded
practical, hands-on solutions from us and society in general.

We witnessed children with disabilities missing foundational education, caregivers carrying overwhelming care responsibilities, teenagers struggling with identity and career path choices and young people with disabilities struggling to transition into opportunities. These realities inspired our transition from an awareness creating platform to inclusive programming organization.

Access to Education

We champion learners with disabilities by providing the resources, mentorship and inclusive spaces they need to progress through school with confidence.

Economic Empowerment

We create safe, accessible, and dignified spaces where caregivers and youth with disabilities can gain marketable skills, build sustainable incomes, and strengthen household resilience both in rural and urban settings
